GS was on the losing end of the Elon game this weekend. Doom and Gloom. The end is near. Where do we go?
Having your own website gives you the ability to be an idiot in public. So let me proceed.
I am a big Chris Hatcher fan in terms of him saying all the right things. I think every fan of (insert any school here) wants to hear their coach say the things that give all fans (insert any school here) a good feeling.
Hence you hear things like "beat UGA, Furman, and everyone in between." You also will hear things like "As long as those old yellow school buses are opereational, we'll be there ready to play". These sound great and fans eat them up, but at some point you actually have to play the game.
As a fan, all I am left with is one question: "why?"
Why is our offense in the shotgun when it's first and goal?
Why do we rush only three, but still can't cover anyone in the secondary?
Why can their QB drop back 45 times and we come up empty in the sack category?
Why can't our offensive line block their three rush linemen?
What is our RB rotation?
How do we give up 500 yards at home?
Why can't we stop the run along with the pass?
When will we see this "Hatch Attack" we all hear so much about?
I obviously have some emotional venting going on right now. Fact is, we're a young team (yawn), but some of these "why's" can be answered pretty easily if you ask me (I know no one asked).
Get out of the shotgun when it's first and goal from the 5 freakin' yard line.
Obviously dropping 8 into coverage doesn't work. Maybe a little pressure on a sophomore QB would help.
Maybe we can't protect our QB. Maybe that's a talent issue that only time will solve. We'll see.
Talking about the "Hatch Attack" has lost its luster. Being a young team and having a 2 year old staff still has some appeal, but if this team continues to not show up like this past week, the Hatch Attack may very well get the Hatchet.
