Get your heart monitor out. Saturday's game is going to be a track meet.
The phoenix got spider bitten to open the season vs. the #4 team in the country in Richmond. Elon beats two pansies later in Stony Brook (whopping 1,800 fans showed up for this game), and Presbyterian (I hear the crowd got out just in time to beat the Methodists to Morrison's).
Scott Riddle in completing nearly 64% of his passes and has thrown seven TD's in three games. Our defense has their hands full. More specifically, our defensive backs have their hands full if our front 4 can't get pressure on the Riddler.
As young as our team is, I don't expect us to be the NY Giants up front this week. I see Riddle having plenty of time to pick our secondary apart. I hope I'm wrong, but nothing has been made clear to me up to this point that I am off.
Holding the title as the best Monday morning quarterback in my house, I do think that if we drop 8 back into coverage this week, we will be in for a long day. I would rather see our defense blitz every down, and get beat one on one, than with 8 guys in zone coverage.
With all this being said, here are a few predictions for this week:
J.B. Shippy will continue to impress.
Antonio Henton will score with his arm and legs.
Raja Andrews will catch 2 TD passes.
Scott Riddle throws for 300+ yards.
Our rush defense improves from last week.
Our secondary will be as lost as Van Gorder at a GS traditions seminar.
