Question Marks Surround Young Eagles Team

Jayson Foster is gone. The offensive line is being rebuilt. And there are more freshmen on this team than names in Charlie Sheens black book.

Everyone's favorite team will cross Eagle Creek today for the season's first practice. Most fans don't know exactly what to expect out of this team other than an offense we may not be too familiar with.

Due to Foster's amazing talents last year, Hatcher was smart enough to adapt his philosophy around an individual who can simply "make plays". In a lot of ways, this year will be Hatcher's first true unveiling of the "Hatch Attack".

The defense returns mainly in tact. Larry Beard and Chris Covington highlight an experienced group of that side of the ball. All American candidate Jesse Hartley will resume PK duties, and will be counted on to win some games this year for the Eagles.

Predictions are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine, but here's a shot:

@ UGA - L 45-16 (Too many weapons on UGA's offense, and first game for inexperienced line hurt Eagles)

Austin Peay - W 31-14 (The Governors Peay on themselves in front of 20k Eagle Fans)

Northeastern - W 34-13 (The Huskies beat 2 top 20 teams to end the season last year. Eagle fans will smell blood by half time)

Elon - L 42-38 (Our defense won't last vs. Riddle and company)

Wofford - L 31-23 (The Terriors offensive line vs. The Eagles defensive line. This should be a fun game for the biggies)

@ Chattanooga - W 48-13 (The Eagles have revenge on their mind)

Appalachian State - W 31-27 (Armanti and company enter the game with 1 loss and leave with 2)

@ Western Carolina - W 20-10 (The Catamounts will figure football out one day)

@ The Citadel - L 24-14 (The Eagles have always struggled with the Jar Heads)

Samford - W 28-13 (Should have brought his son)

@ Furman - L 24-31 (Good 'ol fashioned hate boils over in Greenville. GS unfortunately faces a solid Furman team on their home turf)

Time will tell how accurate these projections are. I do feel confident that the state of the program under the leadership of Hatcher is in excellent shape. Now let's see if we can build on it.
